Concept
The Check Control system monitors functions in
the vehicle and notifies you of malfunctions in
the monitored systems.
Have the vehicle checked immediately
by a dealer's service center or another qualified
service center or repair shop.
Parking brake
General information
A Check Control message is displayed as a com‐
bination of indicator or warning lights and text
messages in the instrument cluster and in the
Head-up Display.
The parking brake is set.
For releasing the parking brake, refer to
page 103.
In addition, an acoustic signal may sound and a
text message may appear on the Control Display.
Brake system
Braking system impaired. Continue to
drive moderately.
Indicator/warning lights
General information
The indicator/warning lights in the instrument
cluster can light up in a variety of combinations
and colors.
Have the vehicle checked immediately
by a dealer's service center or another
qualified service center or repair shop.
Approach control warning
Several of the lights are checked for proper func‐
tioning and light up temporarily when the engine
is started or the ignition is switched on.
Indicator light illuminates: advance warn‐
ing is issued, for example when there is
the impending danger of a collision or
the distance to the vehicle ahead is too small.
Red lights
Increase the distance.
Indicator light flashes: acute warning of the immi‐
nent danger of a collision when the vehicle ap‐
proaches another vehicle at a relatively high dif‐
ferential speed.
Safety belt reminder
Safety belt on the driver's side is not
buckled. For some country versions: pas‐
senger belt is not worn or objects are de‐
tected on the front passenger seat.
Intervene by braking or make an evasive maneu‐
ver.
Indicator light flashes or is illuminated: safety belt
on the driver or passenger side is not buckled.
The safety belt reminder can also be activated if
objects are placed on the front passenger seat.
Person warning
Symbol in the instrument cluster.
Make sure that the safety belts are positioned
correctly.
If a collision with a detected person is im‐
minent, the symbol lights up and a signal
sounds.

Special windshield
The windshield is part of the system.
6. Turn the Controller until the desired height is
reached.
The shape of the windshield makes it possible to
display a precise image.
7. Press the Controller.
A film in the windshield prevents double images
from being displayed.
Settings are stored for the profile currently used.
The height of the Head-up Display can also be
stored using the memory function, refer to
page 88.
For this reason, it is strongly suggested to have
the special windshield replaced by a dealer’s
service center or another qualified service center
or repair shop, if necessary.
