1. Press the brake and engage selector lever  
position P.  
R reverse gear.  
S Sport programme.  
2. Apply the parking brake.  
Keep the brake applied until ready to drive off,  
otherwise the vehicle will move when drive po-  
sition or reverse gear is selected.  
3. Press the Start/Stop button.  
The READY display is no longer illuminated  
and an acoustic signal is heard.  
Only engage selector lever position R when the  
vehicle is stationary.  
Automatic Start/Stop function  
Sport programme: the shift characteristics are  
designed for sportier drivability.  
The Automatic Start/Stop function helps you  
to save fuel. It does this by switching off the  
engine when the vehicle stops, for example  
in congestion or at traffic lights. Drive-ready  
state remains switched on. For driving off, the  
engine starts automatically under the following  
conditions:  
Engaging selector lever position P  
Only engage selector lever position P when the  
vehicle is stationary.  
By releasing the brake pedal.  
With Automatic Hold activated: press the  
accelerator pedal.  
Press button P.

Pull the switch.  
The LED on the switch and the indica-  
tor light in the instrument cluster are  
illuminated.

Release the parking brake  
With drive-ready state switched on:  
Press the switch with the brake applied  
or the selector lever in position P.  
The LED and the indicator light go out.  
The parking brake is released.  
Flashing: press the lever past the resist-  
ance point.  
Parking  
One-touch signalling: lightly tap the lever  
up or down.  
Make sure the parking brake is engaged.  
To indicate a turn briefly: press the lever as  
far as the resistance point and hold it there  
for as long as you wish to indicate a turn.  
High-beam headlight, headlight  
flasher  
Press the lever forwards or pull it back.  
High-beam headlight on, arrow 1.  
The high-beam headlight is illuminated  
when the low-beam headlight is switched  
on.

The engine oil level is displayed.  
Topping up engine oil  
General  
Stop the vehicle safely and switch off drive-  
ready state before topping up with engine oil.  
Topping up engine oil  
1. Open the bonnet.  
The tyre inflation pressure information can be  
found on the tyre pressure label on the body  
pillar of the driver's door.  
2. Turn the cap anticlockwise to open.  
After adjusting the tyre inflation  
pressure  
If equipped with a Tyre Pressure Monitor, tyre  
inflation pressure corrections are applied auto-  
matically. Make sure that the tyre settings are  
correct. For tyres that are not listed in the tyre  
inflation pressure information on the control  
display, reset the Tyre Pressure Monitor.  
3. Add engine oil.  
4. Tighten cap.  
If equipped with a Flat Tyre Monitor, reinitialize  
the Flat Tyre Monitor.
