Changing the Unlocking Settings for the Digital  
Vehicle Key  
Check the charge level of the Digital Vehicle  
Key battery.

The additional door lock is automatically activated  
in the following situations:  
Centrally locking and unlocking the vehicle from  
the inside

The vehicle is locked using the key.

The vehicle is locked using KEYLESS-GO.  
If the vehicle has been locked via Mercedes me  
connect, the additional door lock is not activated  
(/ page 572).  
If the additional door lock is activated, the doors  
cannot be opened from the inside.

Pull the door 1 handle.

Aꢀer locking you can issue a signal with the  
horn.  
You can prevent the additional door lock from  
being activated by deactivating interior protection  
before locking the vehicle (/ page 173).  
Unlocking/opening the doors from the inside

To unlock: press 1 button.  
To lock: press button 2.  
The red indicator lamp on button 2 lights up  
once the vehicle is locked.

United Kingdom only: observe the notes on

This does not lock or unlock the fuel filler flap.

Plug-in hybrid: the socket flap is also locked and  
unlocked. The socket flap can be opened even if a  
key is detected in the car.

sure washer) or 6 m (car wash) away

The boot lid swings upwards when it is  
opened.  
If the locked door is closed, it can no longer be  
opened from the outside.

Therefore, make sure that there is suffi-  
cient clearance above the boot lid.

Combustion engines emit poisonous exhaust  
gases such as carbon monoxide. Exhaust  
gases can enter the vehicle interior if the boot  
lid is open when the engine is running, espe-  
cially if the vehicle is in motion.

Always switch off the engine before

Pull remote operating switch 1 until the boot  
lid opens.
