ASSYST PLUS  
The ASSYST PLUS service interval display on the  
instrument display informs you of the time or dis-  
tance remaining before the next service due date.  
You can hide this service display using the G  
back button on the leꢀ-hand side of the steering  
wheel.  
Depending on how the vehicle is used, the  
ASSYST PLUS service interval display may shorten  
the service interval, e.g. in the following cases:  
The next service due date is displayed.

To exit the display: press the G back but-  
ton on the leꢀ-hand side of the steering wheel.  
Bear in mind the following related topic:  
The prescribed service interval is based on nor-  
mal operation of the vehicle. Have the mainte-  
nance work carried out more oꢀen than prescri-  
bed if operating conditions are diꢂcult or the  
vehicle is subject to increased stress.  
The ASSYST PLUS service interval display is only  
an aid. The driver of the vehicle bears responsibil-  
ity as regards to whether maintenance work  
needs to be performed more oꢀen than speciꢁed  
based on the actual operating conditions and/or  
loads.

If you open the hood in the event of an over-  
heated engine or ꢁre in the engine compart-  
ment, the following situations may occur:

with the hood unlocked  
In these or similar operating conditions, have the  
interior air ꢁlter, air ꢁlter, engine oil and oil ꢁlter,  
for example, changed more frequently. The tires  
must be checked more frequently if the vehicle is  
operated under increased loads. Further informa-  
tion can be obtained at a qualiꢁed specialist work-  
shop.

The hood may open and block your view.  
You may come into contact with hot gases.  
You may come into contact with other  
escaping hot operating ꢃuids.

Never release the hood when driving.  
Before every trip, ensure that the hood is  
locked.

Before opening the hood, allow the  
engine to cool down.  
In the event of a ꢁre in the engine com-  
partment, keep the hood closed and call  
the ꢁre service.

Battery disconnection periods  
The hood may suddenly drop into the end  
position.  
There is a risk of injury for anyone in the  
hood's range of movement.  
The ASSYST PLUS service interval display can cal-  
culate the service due date only when the battery  
is connected.

Do not open or close the hood if there is  
a person in the hood's range of move-  
ment.  
Components in the engine compartment may  
continue to run or start unexpectedly even  
when the drive system is switched oꢄ.  
Display and note down the service due date  
on the instrument display before disconnect-  
ing the battery (/ page 274).
