If the available fuel is not suꢃciently low in sulfur,
this can produce unpleasant odors.
Only refuel with fuel that has at least the octane
number speciꢀed in the information label in the
fuel ꢀller ꢁap.
Forr maaxxiimmuumm ennggiinee ouutppuutt:: Only refuel using
premium grade unleaded gasoline with at least
91 AKI/95 RON.
As a temporary measure, if the recommended fuel
is not available, you may also refuel with regular
unleaded gasoline with at least 87 AKI/91 RON.
This may reduce engine output and increase fuel
consumption.
#
Change immediately out of clothing that
has come into contact with fuel.
*
NOTE Damage caused by the wrong fuel
Even small amounts of the wrong fuel could
result in damage to the fuel system, the
engine and the emission control system.
Flexible-fuel vehicles can be refueled with the fol-
lowing fuel types:
#
Only refuel with low-sulfur spark-ignition
engine fuel.
R
Unleaded premium grade gasoline
R
E85 fuel
R
This fuel may contain up to 10% ethanol by vol-
ume. Your vehicle is suitable for use with E10
fuel.
Never refuel with one of the following fuels:
R
A mixture of E85 fuel and unleaded premium
grade gasoline
Flexible-fuel vehicles can be identiꢀed by the
Ethanol up to E85 sticker on the inside of the fuel
ꢀller ꢁap.
Depending on the country, the fuels you can use
in your vehicle may diꢂer from the information in
the Operator's Manual. The fuels that have been
approved for your vehicle can be found on the
instruction label on the inside of the fuel ꢀller ꢁap.

In some countries, the fuel available may not have
suꢃcient additives. Residue could build up in the
fuel injection system as a result. In this case, in
consultation with an authorized Mercedes-Benz
Center, mix the fuel with the cleaning additive rec-
ommended by Mercedes-Benz. Observe the notes
and mixing ratios indicated on the tank.

Do not use additives.
Have the engine oil changed aꢄer the
prescribed intervals.
* Recommended for the lowest possible fuel con-
sumption.
To achieve the lowest possible fuel consumption,
it is recommended to use the engine oil speciꢀca-
tions marked in the table for the lowest SAE vis-
cosity class. Observe any possible restrictions of
the approved SAE viscosity classes.
Notes on brake ꢁuid
Observe the notes on operating ꢁuids
(/ page 344).
Mercedes-Benz recommends having the oil
changed at a qualiꢀed specialist workshop.
Only use engine oils approved for your vehicle by
Mercedes-Benz.
&
WARNING Risk of an accident due to
vapor pockets forming in the brake system
The brake ꢁuid constantly absorbs moisture
from the air. This lowers the boiling point of
the brake ꢁuid. If the boiling point is too low,
vapor pockets may form in the brake system
when the brakes are applied hard.
This causes the braking eꢂect to be impaired.

Thoroughly clean oꢂ any antifreeze from
component parts before starting the
vehicle.
Only use coolant approved by Mercedes-
Benz.
Observe the instructions in the
Mercedes-Benz Speciꢀcations for Oper-
ating Fluids 320.1.
Have the brake ꢁuid regularly replaced at a quali-
ꢀed specialist workshop.
Only use a brake ꢁuid approved by Mercedes-
Benz according to MB-Freigabe or MB-Approval
331.0.

WARNING ‑ Risk of ꢀre and injury from
windshield washer concentrate
#
Do not use distilled or de-ionized water. Other-
wise, the ꢀll level sensor may be triggered errone-
ously.
Windshield washer concentrate is highly ꢁam-
mable. It could ignite if it comes into contact
with hot engine component parts or the
exhaust system.

#
Make sure that no windshield washer
concentrate spills out next to the ꢀller
opening.
R
Only use refrigerant compressor oil that
has been approved by Mercedes-Benz.
Do not mix the approved refrigerant
compressor oil with a diꢂerent refriger-
ant compressor oil.
Above freezing point: e.g. MB SummerFit
Below freezing point: e.g. MB WinterFit
R
For the correct mixing ratio, refer to the informa-
tion on the antifreeze container.
Mix washer ꢁuid with windshield washer ꢁuid all
year round.
*
NOTE Damage to the exterior lighting due
to unsuitable windshield washer ꢁuid
Work on the climate control system may be car-
ried out only by a qualiꢀed specialist workshop.
All applicable regulations, as well as SAE standard
J639, must be adhered to.
The information label for the climate control sys-
tem regarding the refrigerant type and the refrig-
erant compressor oil (PAG oil) is located on the
inside of the hood.
Unsuitable windshield washer ꢁuid may dam-
age the plastic surface of the exterior lighting.
