CAUTION
Objects in the rear-view monitor will appear
visually opposite than when viewed in the rear
view and outside mirrors.
Camera
Do not use the system when the engine is not
running for extended periods of time to prevent
battery discharge.
When the shift lever is moved into the R (Reverse)
position, the monitor (NissanConnect display)
shows the view from the rear of the vehicle.
The system is designed as an aid to the driver in
detecting large stationary objects. It is intended to
help avoid damaging the vehicle when reversing.
However, the system will not detect small objects
below the bumper and may not detect objects close
to the bumper or on the ground.
Make sure that the tailgate is securely closed
when reversing.
When washing the vehicle with high pressure
water, be sure not to spray it around the cam-
era. Otherwise, water may enter the camera
unit causing possibly water condensation on
the lens, a malfunction, a fire or an electric
shock.
WARNING
Failure to follow the warnings and instructions for
proper use of the rear-view monitor could result
in serious injury or death.
CAUTION
There is a transparent cover over the camera lens.
Do not scratch the cover when cleaning dirt or
snow from it.
The rear-view camera is a convenience but it
is not a substitute for proper reversing. Always
turn and look out the windows, and check mir-
rors to be sure that it is safe to move before
operating the vehicle. Always reverse slowly.

Displayed lines indicate the distances between the
obstacle and the bumper as follows:
Vertical lines may be seen in objects on the
screen. This is due to strong reflected light from
the bumper. This is not a malfunction.

1 m (3 ft) – yellow
2 m (7 ft) – green
3 m (10 ft) – green
The screen may flicker under fluorescent light.
This is not a malfunction.
The colours of objects on the rear-view monitor
may differ somewhat from those of the actual
object.
SAA0889Z
NOTE
WARNING
Objects on the monitor may not be clear in a
dark place or at night.
The vehicle clearance lines are wider than the
actual clearance.
Use the displayed lines as a reference. The
lines are highly affected by the number of oc-
cupants, fuel level, vehicle position, road con-
dition and road grade. Always check with your
eyes directly around the vehicle while revers-
ing.
If dirt, rain or snow attaches to the transparent
camera cover, the rear-view monitor may not
clearly display objects. Clean the transparent
camera cover.
The lines are indicated as reference distances
to the obstacle.
REAR-VIEW MONITOR SETTING
For details, see the separately provided NissanCon-
nect Owner's Manual.
Do not use alcohol, benzine or thinner to clean
the transparent camera cover. This will cause
discolouration. To clean the transparent camera
cover, wipe with a cloth dampened with diluted
mild cleaning agent and then wipe with a dry
cloth.
The distance guide line and the vehicle width
line should be used as a reference only when
the vehicle is on a level paved surface. The dis-
tance viewed on the monitor is for reference
only and may be different than the actual dis-
tance between the vehicle and displayed ob-
jects.
OPERATING TIPS
When the shift lever is shifted to R (Reverse), the
NissanConnect display automatically changes
to the rear-view monitor mode.
Do not damage the transparent camera cover
as the NissanConnect display may be adversely
affected.
When the shift lever is returned to a position
other than R (Reverse), it may take some time
until the screen changes. Objects on the screen
may be distorted until they are completely dis-
played.
When reversing the vehicle up a hill, objects
viewed in the monitor are further than they
appear. When reversing the vehicle down a hill,
objects viewed in the monitor are closer than
they appear. Use the inside mirror or glance
Do not use body wax on the transparent camera
cover. Wipe off any wax with a clean cloth damp-
ened with mild detergent diluted with water.

The IAVM is a convenient feature but it is not a
substitute for proper vehicle operation
because it has areas where objects cannot be
viewed. The four corners of the vehicle in par-
ticular, are areas where objects do not always
appear in the bird’s-eye, front, or rear views.
Always check your surroundings to be sure
that it is safe to move before operating the ve-

MOVING OBJECT DETECTION (MOD)
The Moving Object Detection (MOD) system can in-
form the driver of the moving objects surrounding
the vehicle.
The MOD system detects moving objects by using
image processing technology on the image shown
on the IAVM display.
The MOD system operates in the following condi-
tions when the camera view is displayed:
When the shift lever is in the N (Neutral) position
(Automatic (DCT) and MT models) or P (Park) po-
sition (Automatic (DCT) models) and the vehicle
is stopped, the MOD system detects the moving
objects in the bird's-eye view.
When the shift lever is in any position other than
R (Reverse) position and the vehicle speed is
above 0 km/h and below approximately 8 km/h
(5 MPH), the MOD system detects moving ob-
jects in the front view.
When the shift lever is in the R (Reverse) position
and the vehicle speed is below approximately 8
km/h (5 MPH), the MOD system detects moving
objects in the rear view. The MOD system will not
operate correctly if the tailgate is open.

the following has occurred:
The MOD system is not a substitute for proper
vehicle operation and is not designed to pre-
vent contact with the objects surrounding the
vehicle. When manoeuvring, always use the
outside mirror and rear view mirror and turn
and check the surroundings to ensure it is safe
to manoeuvre.

headlight or sunlight is present.
When the Rear View camera has detected a
blockage (icon will blink).
The MOD system does not have the function
to detect the surrounding stationary objects.
When camera orientation is not in its usual
position, such as when mirror is folded.
If the icon light continues to illuminate orange,
have the MOD system checked. It is recom-
mended that you visit a NISSAN dealer or quali-
fied workshop for this service.
When there is dirt, water drops or snow on
the camera lens.
When the MOD system detects a moving object sur-
rounding the vehicle, a yellow frame will be dis-
played on the view where the objects are detected
and a chime will sound once. While the MOD system
continues to detect moving objects, the yellow
frame continues to be displayed.
When the position of the moving objects in
the display is not changed.
Turning the MOD system on or off
To turn the MOD system on or off, use the settings
described in the separately provided NissanCon-
nect owner's manual.
The MOD system might detect flowing water
droplets on the camera lens, white smoke
from the exhaust, moving shadows, etc.
The yellow frame is displayed when using each view
in the front view, front-wide view, rear view and rear-
wide view modes.
HOW TO ADJUST THE SCREEN VIEW
To adjust the display brightness of the Around View
Monitor, use the settings described in the separately
provided NissanConnect owner's manual.
The MOD system may not function properly
depending on the speed, direction, distance or
shape of the moving objects.
A blue MOD icon is displayed in the view where the
MOD system is operative. A grey MOD icon is dis-
played in the view where the MOD system is not
operative.
If your vehicle sustains damage to the parts
where the camera is installed, leaving it mis-
aligned or bent, the sensing zone may be al-
tered and the MOD system may not detect ob-
jects properly.
NOTE
Do not adjust any of the display settings of the
IAVM while the vehicle is moving. Make sure the
parking brake is firmly applied.

unit causing water condensation on the lens,
a malfunction, fire or an electric shock.
There may be differences in sharpness between
each camera view of the bird's-eye view.
If dirt, rain or snow accumulates on the camera,
the IAVM may not display objects clearly. Clean
the camera.
NIC3776
Do not strike the cameras. They are precision
instruments. Doing so could cause a malfunc-
tion or cause damage resulting in a fire or an
electric shock.
There are some areas where the system will not
show objects and the system does not warn of
moving objects.
Do not use wax on the camera lens. Wipe off any
wax with a clean cloth that has been dampened
with a diluted mild cleaning agent, then wipe
with a dry cloth.
When in the front or the rear view display, an
object below the bumper or on the ground may not
be viewed.
