STORAGE  
Before inserting or disconnecting a plug, be  
sure to turn off the power switch of the elec-  
trical accessory being used or remove the key  
from the ignition to turn the ACC power of the  
vehicle off.  
The glove box contains a sunglasses storage area,  
which is accessible when the glove box is open.  
STORAGE TRAYS  
WARNING  
CONSOLE BOX  
To help prevent injury in an accident or sudden  
stop, do not place sharp objects in the trays.  
Fully push the plug in sufficiently. If sufficient  
contact is not made, the plug may overheat or  
the internal temperature fuse may blow.  
GLOVE BOX

To open the console box lid, pull the lever

Cup holders should not be used while driving so  
that full attention may be given to vehicle  
operation.  
Do not use the bottle holder for any other ob-  
jects that could be thrown about in the vehicle  
and possibly injure people during sudden  
braking or an accident.  
Do not apply a load of more than 1 kg (2 lb) to the  
hook.  
The coat hook is fitted to the rear assist grip on the  
driver's side only.  
To access the rear cup holders (where fitted), lower  
the centre armrest.  
Do not use the bottle holder for open liquid  
containers.  
CAUTION  
Avoid abrupt starting and braking when the  
cup holder is being used to prevent spillage. If  
the liquid is hot, it can scald you or your pas-  
senger.  
Use only soft cups in the cup holder. Hard ob-  
jects can injure you in an accident.

Properly secure all cargo to help prevent it  
from sliding or shifting. Do not place cargo  
higher than the seatbacks. In a sudden stop or  
collision, unsecured cargo could cause  
personal injury.  
SEAT POCKET (where fitted)  
PARCEL SHELF  
Properly secure cargo and do not allow it to  
contact the top tether strap when it is  
attached to the top tether anchor. Cargo that  
is not properly secured or cargo that contacts  
the top tether strap may damage the top  
tether strap during a collision. If the cargo  
cover contacts the top tether strap when it is  
attached to the top tether anchor, remove the  
cargo cover from the vehicle or store it in its  
storage space. If the cargo cover is not  
removed, it may damage the top tether strap  
during a collision. Your child could be seriously  
injured or killed in a collision if the child re-  
straint top tether strap is damaged.

Seat pocket (where fitted)  
A seat pocket (where fitted) is located on the back  
of the driver and/or passenger seat.  
Removal  
1. Open the tailgate (see “Tailgate lock” in the “2. Pre-  
driving checks and adjustments” section).  
2. Detach both of the ropes (left and right)  
the inside of the tailgate.

3. Detach the parcel shelf by simply pulling it rear-  
wards  
through the tailgate opening.  
WARNING

ter how small. Any object on it could cause an  
injury in case of an accident or if the brakes  
are applied suddenly.  
Do not leave the parcel shelf in position when  
it is disengaged from the grooves.

on the load floor.  
LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT/BOOT  
FLOOR (where fitted)  
Never allow anyone to ride in the luggage area.  
It is extremely dangerous to ride in a luggage  
area inside of a vehicle. In a collision, people  
riding in these areas are more likely to be seri-  
ously injured or killed.  
Only two anchorage points identified by the  
top tether labels can be used for top tether  
strap anchorage. Under no circumstances  
should the luggage hooks be used for top  
tether strap anchorage.

CAUTION  
The luggage (cargo) compartment or boot floor has  
a dual position system with a loose floorboard that  
allow different luggage compartment arrange-  
ments.  
Make sure the parcel shelf is carefully stored  
when not in use in order to prevent any damage.  
NOTE  
CAUTION  
The parcel shelf can be securely stored under the  
luggage compartment floor boards (where fitted)  
(see “Installation” later in this section).  
The load should be distributed evenly and  
should not exceed 50 kg (110 lb) on the boards.  
Installation  
1. Open the tailgate.  
Upper position  
This position provides a flat load floor when the rear  
seat backs are folded forward. It also serves as a  
concealed load area for objects placed below the  
board.  
2. Insert the parcel shelf by pushing it forwards as  
far as possible through the tailgate opening.

3. Attach the corresponding ropes to each side  
of the tailgate.  
NOTE  
WARNING  
4. Close the tailgate (see “Tailgate lock” in the  
“2. Pre-driving checks and adjustments” section).  
The parcel shelf can be securely stored under the  
luggage compartment floor board.  
Properly secure all cargo with ropes or straps  
to help prevent it from sliding or shifting. Do  
not place cargo higher than the seatbacks. In  
a sudden stop or collision, unsecured cargo  
could cause personal injury.  
Move the board as illustrated by lifting and sliding  
the board into the upper position.

This position maximises the load space in the lug-  
gage compartment.  
Driver's side main window switch  
POWER WINDOWS  
The power window switches are located on the  
door panels and will only operate when the ignition  
is in the ON position.  
Move the board as illustrated by lifting and sliding  
the board into the lower position.  
WARNING  
LUGGAGE HOOKS  
Make sure that all passengers have their  
hands, etc. inside the vehicle before operating  
the power windows.  
To help avoid risk of injury or death through  
unintended operation of the vehicle and/or its  
systems, do not leave children, people who re-  
quire the assistance of others or pets unat-  
tended in your vehicle. Additionally, the tem-  
perature inside a closed vehicle on a warm day  
can quickly become high enough to cause a  
significant risk of injury or death to people and  
pets.
