In case of emergency for Your Nissan Patrol SUV Sixth Generation (2010-2023)

HAZARD INDICATOR FLASHER SWITCH FLAT TIRE
If you have a flat tire, follow the instructions in
malfunction of the tire pressure sensors.
The Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS)
monitors tire pressure of all tires except the
spare. When the low tire pressure warning light
is lit and the check tire pressure warning (if
equipped) appears on the vehicle information
display, one or more of your tires is significantly
under-inflated. If the vehicle is being driven
with low tire pressure, the TPMS will activate
and warn you of it by the low tire pressure
warning light (in the meter panel). This system
will activate only when the vehicle is driven at
speeds above 25 km/h (16 MPH).
this section.
TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM
(TPMS) (if equipped)
WARNING:
.
If the low tire pressure warning light
illuminates while driving, avoid sudden
steering maneuvers or abrupt braking,
reduce vehicle speed, pull off the road to
a safe location and stop the vehicle as
soon as possible. Driving with under-
inflated tires may permanently damage
the tires and increase the likelihood of
tire failure. Serious vehicle damage could
occur and may lead to an accident and
could result in serious personal injury.
Check the tire pressure for all four tires.
Adjust the tire pressure to the recom-
mended COLD tire pressure shown on the
tire placard to turn the low tire pressure
warning light OFF. If you have a flat tire,
replace it with a spare tire as soon as
possible.

The hazard indicator flasher switch operates
regardless of the ignition switch position ex-
cept when the battery is discharged.
The hazard indicator flasher is used to warn
other drivers when you have to stop or park
under emergency conditions.
When the hazard indicator flasher switch is
pushed, all turn signal lights will flash. To turn
off the hazard indicator flasher, push the

wheel nuts or improperly tightened
wheel nuts may cause the wheel to
become loose or come off. This could
cause an accident.
For model equipped with Tire Pressure
Monitoring System (TPMS)
Never use oil or grease on the wheel
studs or nuts. This may cause the wheel
nuts to become loose.
After adjusting tire pressure to the COLD tire
pressure, the display of the tire pressure
information (if equipped) may show higher
pressure than the COLD tire pressure after
the vehicle has been driven more than 1.6 km (1
mile). This is because the tire pressurizes as the
tire temperature rises. This does not indicate a
system malfunction.
1. Clean any mud or dirt from the surface
between the wheel and hub.
2. Carefully put the spare tire on and tighten
the wheel nuts with your fingers. Check
that all the wheel nuts contact the wheel
surface horizontally.

IF YOUR VEHICLE OVERHEATS
TOWING YOUR VEHICLE
When towing your vehicle, local regulations for
towing must be followed. Incorrect towing
equipment could damage your vehicle. To
assure proper towing and to prevent acciden-
tal damage to your vehicle, NISSAN recom-
mends that you have professional road
assistance personnel tow your vehicle. It is
advisable to have the professional road assis-
tant carefully read the following precautions.
5. Open all the windows.
WARNING:
6. Turn off the air conditioner. Move the
temperature control to maximum hot and
the fan control to high speed.
.
Never continue driving if your vehicle
overheats. Doing so could cause engine
damage and/or a vehicle fire.
7. Get out from the vehicle.

coolant level in the reservoir with the
engine running. Do not open the radiator
or coolant reservoir cap.
out.
Never remove the radiator or coolant
reservoir cap while the engine is hot. If
the radiator or coolant reservoir cap is
removed when the engine is hot, pres-
surized hot water will spurt out and
possibly cause burning, scalding or ser-
ious injury.
If steam or coolant is coming from the
engine, stand clear of the vehicle to
prevent getting scalded.
The engine cooling fan can start at any
time when the coolant temperature ex-
ceeds preset degrees.
Be careful not to allow your hands, hair,
jewelry or clothing to come into contact
with, or to get caught in the cooling fan or
drive belts.

position) in case of an emergency.
OPERATING PROCEDURE
WARNING:
Place the ignition switch in the “OFF” position
and apply the parking brake. Let the vehicle
cool down before performing the following
procedure.
.
.
.
Ensure your safety before performing the
operations. The vehicle may move unex-
pectedly.
Place the ignition switch in the “OFF”
position, apply the parking brake and let
the vehicle cool down.
Do not perform the following procedure
immediately after driving the vehicle.
Parts such as exhaust components, the
transmission, etc. are very hot and may
cause a burn injury.
Make sure that the parts that will be
operated as well as related parts cool
down before performing the operation.
Burrs or projecting portions of metal
components may cause unexpected in-
jury to your fingers or arms. Pay special
attention in regard to your safety while
removing and installing these parts. Wear
work gloves and protective arm covers.
WHEN 4WD WARNING LIGHT ILLUMI-
NATES
If the 4WD warning light illuminates while
driving, there may be
a malfunction in the
4WD system. Stop the vehicle and have the
vehicle checked by a NISSAN dealer as soon as
possible. (See “Four-Wheel Drive (4WD) (4WD
models)” (P.5-16).)
When the vehicle is stuck on an uneven road
(desert, mud, etc.) and the 4WD warning light is
illuminated, be sure to place the 4WD shift
switch in the 4L position. If only the rear wheels
are spinning, this means that the transfer has
not switched to the 4L position electrically.
If this situation occurs, contact a dealer or road
assistance service for help. If an immediate
service is not available, perform the following
procedure to switch to the 4L position manu-
ally and free the vehicle.
