(chime) operation, push the “LOCK”  
and “UNLOCK”

hazard indicator flashes 3 times.

are set, the hazard indicator flashes once  
and the horn chirps once.  
The security indicator light is located in the  
meter panel.  
This light operates whenever the ignition  
switch is in the “ACC”, “OFF” or “LOCK” position.  
This is normal.

How to activate system:  
Security indicator light  
The warning system will give the following  
alarm:  
1. Close all windows and push the ignition

The hazard indicator blinks and the horn  
sounds intermittently for about 30 sec-  
onds. (except for Mexico)  
The headlights blink and the horn sounds  
intermittently for about 50 seconds. (for  
Mexico)  
The alarm automatically turns off after  
approximately 30 or 50 seconds. However,  
the alarm reactivates if the vehicle is  
tampered with again.

The system can be activated even if the  
windows are open.  
2. Carry the Intelligent Key with you and get  
out of the vehicle.  
3. Make sure the hood is closed. Close and  
lock all doors with the door handle request  
switch, “LOCK”

mechanical key.  
The alarm is activated by:  
The security indicator light is located in the  
meter panel. It indicates the status of NATS.  
The light operates whenever the ignition  
switch is in the “LOCK”, “ACC” or “OFF” position.  
The security indicator light indicates that the  
security systems on the vehicle are operational.  
If NATS is malfunctioning, this light will remain  
on while the ignition switch is in the “ON”  
position.  
If the light remains on and/or the engine  
does not start, contact a NISSAN dealer for  
NATS service as soon as possible. Be sure to  
bring all Intelligent Keys that you have when  
visiting a NISSAN dealer for service.  
4. Confirm that the security indicator light  
comes on. The security indicator light stays  
on for about 30 seconds. The vehicle  
security system is now pre-armed. After  
about 30 seconds the vehicle security  
system automatically shifts into the armed  
phase. The security light begins to flash  
once every approximately 3 seconds.

How to stop alarm:

The alarm will stop only by unlocking a  
door with the door handle request switch,  
“UNLOCK”

If, during this 30-second pre-arm time  
period, the door is unlocked with the door  
handle request switch, the “UNLOCK”  
button on the Intelligent Key, the power  
door lock switch, or the ignition switch is  
pushed to the “ACC” or “ON” position, the  
system will not arm.

The alarm will stop when the ignition  
switch is pushed to the “ON” position.  
If the system does not operate as described  
above, have it checked by a NISSAN dealer.  
NISSAN ANTI-THEFT SYSTEM (NATS)  
The NISSAN Anti-Theft System (NATS) will not  
allow the engine to start without the use of the  
registered NATS key.  
Even when the driver and/or passengers are  
in the vehicle, the system will activate with all  
doors locked and ignition switch in the  
“LOCK” position. Push the ignition switch to  
the “ACC” or “ON” position to turn the system  
off.
