Troubleshooting  
Restriction  
The tailgate does not react to the opening signal  
The system function may be restricted in the follow-  
ing cases.  
There is a possible obstacle, e.g. snow; remove it.

Downpour.  
Dirty rear bumper.  
Press the handle in the tailgate and lift the lid.

The tailgate does not react to the closing signal  
Activate and deactivate  
The function is activated and deactivated in the fol-  
lowing menu in the Infotainment.  
NOTICE  
Close the tailgate slowly, push down the tailgate  
and push in the lock on the centre of the rear edge  
of the tailgate.

If the boot lid does not open, it can be unlocked  
manually by the following procedure.  
Insert a screwdriver in-  
to the opening in the  
panel.  
Release the tailgate by  
moving it in the direc-  
tion of the arrow.  
Stand in the middle behind the bumper.  
Bring one foot under the bumper in one swift  
movement and remove it again.  
If the tailgate does not move, wait a few seconds  
and repeat the swivel movement.  
Closing indicator  
Acoustic signals sound when the tailgate is closed.  
Stop / restore tailgate movement  
The tailgate movement can be stopped with a swift  
swivelling movement with the foot. The tailgate  
movement is restored by a subsequent swivelling  
movement with the foot.
