What you should be mindful of
NOTICE
Risk of damage to the strip, the door and the body!
Window - with electrical operation
What you should be mindful of
Do not open the door too hastily or abruptly.
Do not hold the door on the strip when opening
and closing, as the strip must be able to move in
and out freely.
Force limitation
If the strip prevents the door from closing freely,
do not close the door forcefully! Remove the strip,
and seek the help of a specialist garage.
To reduce the risk of pinch injuries when closing the
windows, the vehicle has a force limiter.
If there is an obstacle, the window closing process is
stopped and the pane retracts by several centime-
tres.
Usage
If the obstacle prevents it from being closed for the
next 10 seconds, the closing process is interrupted
once again and the window goes down by several
centimetres.
Depending on the equipment, the doors can each be
provided with a protective strip. This moves out
when opening the door and protects the central area
of the door edge from damage.
If you attempt to close the window again within
10 seconds of the window being moved down for
the second time, even though the obstacle was not
yet been removed, the closing process is only stop-
ped. During this time, it is not possible to automati-
cally close the windows by pulling the button all the
way. The force limiter is, however, switched on.
When the door closes the protective strip retracts.
Self help
Replace damaged strip
CAUTION
Risk of injury!
The force limiter is only not operational if you at-
tempt to close the window again within the next
10 seconds – the window will now close with full
force! If you wait longer than 10 seconds, the force
limiter is switched on again.
Be careful when handling the strip.

Sliding/tilting roof
What you should be mindful of
Force limiter
To reduce the risk of pinch injuries when closing the
tilt/slide sunroof, the vehicle has a force limiter.
After moving the switch to position B , the slid-
ing / tilting roof opens into the low-noise position (at
a speed of approximately 80 km / h).
After another shift to position B , the sliding / tilting
roof opens completely.
If there is an obstacle, the glass panel closing proc-
ess is stopped and the pane retracts by several cen-
timetres.
If the obstacle is not removed, the force limiter will
be disabled during the third closing attempt. The
sliding/tilting roof will then close with full force.
After switching off the ignition, the sliding / tilt-
ing roof can be operated for about 10 minutes as
long as none of the doors are opened.
CAUTION
Risk of injury!
Easy operation of the sliding / tilting roof
The comfort operation makes it possible to lock the
sliding/tilting roof with the key if necessary.
Close the sliding/tilting roof carefully, even though
there is a force limiter.
NOTICE
To tilt, hold the button down.
To close, hold the button down.
During winter time, if necessary, remove any ice
and snow around the area of the sliding/tilting roof
before opening.
Always close the sliding/tilting roof before discon-
necting the battery.
On vehicles with a keyless locking system, it is possi-
ble to close the sliding / tilting roof using the sensor
in the door handle of the front door .
Hold one finger on the sensor on the outside of the
handle on the front door.
