Fold the windscreen wiper arm away from the

We recommend a difference of max. 5°C between

Press the fuse and re-  
move the wiper blade.  
Annual disinfection of the air conditioning is rec-  
ommended.  
Insert the new wiper  
blade until it clicks into  
place.  
Fold the windscreen  
wiper arm back onto  
the windscreen.  
Turn on the ignition  
and push the control  
lever down.

Automatic switching on of the cooling system  
The cooling system switches on automatically to  
stop the windows from fogging up. The system  
switches on in the following cases.  
Operating conditions for the cooling system  
The outside temperature is below 2 °C.  
The engine is running.  
When the fan is on and the air distribution control-  
ler is in the position.  
The blower is switched on.  
In this case, the recirculation mode is switched off.  
When the air distribution controller is not in the  
position, and recirculated air mode is switched on.  
Operation  
Recirculated air mode  
The recirculation mode prevents contaminated out-  
side air getting into the interior of the vehicle.  
Switching recirculation mode on briefly can increase  
the cooling effect.  
Circulating air mode may be switched on or off  
automatically under certain circumstances.  
When the air conditioner is operating, the engine  
idle speed may increase automatically.

The air purification process is displayed in the

The rear temperature can also be set on the dis-  
play in the rear centre console.  
For proper operation, the doors and windows  
must be closed.  
If the temperature is set outside the numerical  
range, one of the following symbols is shown in the  
Climatronic display.

Usage  
The auxiliary heater heats the vehicle interior and the  
engine.  
Hold the radio remote control with the antenna  
facing upwards.  
The auxiliary ventilation makes it possible to supply  
fresh air to the vehicle interior when the engine is  
switched off. As a result, the interior temperature is  
lowered, e.g. when the vehicle is parked in the sun.  
NOTICE  
Protect the radio remote control from moisture,  
strong vibrations and direct sunlight.

Lit up green for 2 seconds - switch on.  
Lit up red for 2 seconds - switch off.  
What you should be mindful of

Range of the radio remote control  
The range of the wireless remote control is a few  
hundred meters when the battery is full. For exam-  
ple, obstacles or weather conditions can reduce the  
range.

The auxiliary heater must not be operated in en-  
closed spaces.

Switching on/off via the control panel of the air  
conditioning system  
Switch off the auxiliary heater before refuelling.  
The exhaust pipe for the auxiliary heater is located  
on the underside of the vehicle. Therefore, do not  
stop the vehicle in places where the exhaust gases  
could come into contact with easily flammable ma-  
terials, e.g. dry grass, spilled fuel etc.

Usage  
Running the auxiliary heater after stopping the en-

After switching off the system, the coolant pump  
and the auxiliary heating will continue running a little  
while longer in order to burn the remaining fuel in  
the heating.  
Windscreen heating is used for defrosting or venti-  
lating the windscreen.  
Conditions

seat.  
There are additional seat covers or protective

nutes, the heating will continue.  
Variant without seat ventilation

The seat heating is switched on with maximum heat-  
ing power. By repeatedly pressing the button, the  
heating output is reduced until it is switched off.

The output level of the heating is indicated by the  
number of illuminated indicator lights in the button  
or in the Infotainment screen.  
Automatic windscreen heating  
The windscreen heater switches on automatically if  
the windscreen could fog up.  
Variant with seat ventilation  
This function is set in the following menu in the Info-  
tainment system.  
Press the or button.  
The Infotainment screen displays a menu for operat-  
ing the front seat heater and ventilation.
