Opening the drawer

1. Press the button on the drawer handle and pull the drawer in the direction of the arrow.

Closing the drawer

1. Slide the drawer in the opposite direction to the arrow under the front seat until it engages.

WARNING

An open drawer or objects falling out into the driver's footwell can hinder your operation of the pedals. This can cause accidents and serious or fatal injuries.

Always keep the drawers closed while driving.

NOTICE

If the drawer load is too heavy, it could open by itself and the objects inside could fall out. This may cause accidents and serious injuries.

Load the drawer with up to a maximum of 1.5 kg (approx. 3.3 lbs).

Sockets

Introduction

Electrical devices can be connected to the sockets in the vehicle.

The 12 V socket only works when the ignition is switched on.

WARNING

Using sockets and connected electrical devices incorrectly can cause ﬁres and serious injuries or death.

If the electrical devices become too warm, turn off the devices immediately and disconnect them.

Be aware that sockets and devices connected to them may still be used, e.g. by children in the vehicle, when the ignition is switched off.

NOTICE

Electrical devices that are unsuitable, not permitted, or connected incorrectly may cause damage to the vehicle or electronics. Do not use any malfunctioning

devices.

Never connect electrical devices that provide power, such as solar panels or battery chargers, to the 12 V socket in order to charge the 12 V vehicle

battery.

Only use electrical devices that have been tested for compliance with the applicable directives for electromagnetic compatibility.

Do not use any malfunctioning devices.

To reduce the risk of damage from voltage ﬂuctuations, turn electrical devices off before switching the ignition on or off and before starting the engine.

Refer to the operating instructions for the electrical devices.

NOTICE

The vehicle electrical system can be damaged when the maximum load is exceeded.

Never connect electrical devices that draw more than the speciﬁed load of a 12 V socket.

The 12 V vehicle battery will drain if the ignition and electrical devices are switched on while the engine is switched off.

Unshielded devices can cause malfunctions in the radio, the Infotainment system and in the vehicle electronics, depending on the vehicle equipment.

Sockets in the vehicle

Do not exceed the maximum power of the sockets. The power draw of the external devices is indicated on their identiﬁcation labels.

12 V socket

The total continuous output of all 12 V sockets in the vehicle is 120 watts ⇒

Introduction.

The maximum power of a 12 V socket in the vehicle with the engine running totals 180 watts.

NOTICE

Using 12 V sockets for too long at maximum power can cause the fuse to blow.

Never use 12 V sockets at their maximum power for longer than 10 minutes.

Only ever use a single 12 V socket at maximum power.

230 V socket, 115 V socket, 100 V socket

The maximum power is 150 watts (peak power: 300 watts).

The socket is activated automatically if you plug in a connector while the engine is running. If enough power is available, you may be able to use the socket, even if

you have switched off the engine.

Connecting an electrical device

1. To unlock the integrated child safety lock, swing up the cover if necessary and insert the connector all the way into the socket.

Electricity will not start to ﬂow through the socket until the child safety lock is unlocked.

LED display on the socket ﬁg. 163.

Green LED comes on: The child safety lock is unlocked. The socket is ready for operation.

Green LED is blinking: The ignition is switched off but there is still

enough power to continue supplying the socket for up to ten minutes. If you pull out the connector within this period, the socket will be switched off and you will

not be able to use it again without switching the ignition back on. Red LED is blinking: There is a malfunction, e.g. cut-off due to overcurrent or excessive

temperature.

Temperature cut-off

The inverter of the 230 V, 115 V or 100 V socket switches off automatically when a certain temperature is exceeded. The cut-off prevents overheating due to device

that are connected drawing excessive power and overheating due to high ambient temperatures. The 230-volt, 115-volt, or 100-volt socket cannot be used again

until a cool-down phase has been completed.

To be able to use the 230-volt, 115-volt, or 100-volt socket again after the cool-down phase, you should ﬁrst unplug the connector of a connected device and then

plug it back in again. This prevents electronic devices from inadvertently being switched back on.

DANGER

Contact with high voltage in the electrical system, e.g. sockets, may cause electric shocks, serious burns, and fatal injuries.

High voltage in the electrical system can cause electric shocks, serious burns and death.

Do not spill any liquids on the socket.

Do not insert any adapters or extension cables into the 230 V, 100 V or 115 V socket with earthing contact.

Do not insert conductive items such as knitting needles into the contacts of the 230 V, 100 V or 115 V socket with earthing contact.

NOTICE

Damaged sockets may cause damage to the electronics and the vehicle.

Do not suspend excessively heavy devices or connectors (e.g. power supply units) directly from the socket.

Only connect devices to the socket if the voltage of these devices matches the socket voltage.

NOTICE

The built-in overcurrent cut-off prevents electronic devices with a high inrush current from being switched on.

In this case, disconnect the power supply unit from the electronic device, wait approximately 10 seconds and then reconnect it.

On some devices, you may experience functional impairments on the 230-volt, 115-volt, or 100-volt socket due to the lower output (W).

Charging Options for Mobile Devices

You can charge mobile devices in the

vehicle either wirelessly or by using the

built-in USB-C connectors.

Charging with USB-C Connectors

The vehicle may contain the following USB -C ports:

Symbol for a USB port for data transmission and charging.

Available Charging Power

Symbol for a USB port for charging only.

Voltages up to 20 V are provided via the USB port, which enables up to 45 W charging power.

Depending on the vehicle equipment, the following charging proﬁles may be supported by the USB ports:

Legacy charging (2.5 W).

BC1.2 (7.5 W).

USB-C charging (15 W).

USB power delivery (up to 45 W).

The actual charging power of the connected device depends on the following aspects:

Supported charging proﬁles.

Device charge level.

Device temperature.

Charging cable used.

For double USB ports, the charging power can be split between both ports.

Wireless charging function

Shelf with a liner pad.

The wireless charging function depends on the vehicle equipment and is not available in all countries.

The wireless charging function uses electromagnetic induction to transfer energy wirelessly over short distances. To use this function, you need a suitable Qi-

certiﬁed cell phone. To ﬁnd out whether a cell phone supports the Qi standard, see the cell phone operating instructions. New technologies might not be compatible

with the wireless charging function. The manufacturer of the cell phone can offer further information regarding compatibility.

The maximum charging power is 5 watts.

Depending on the vehicle, the rear shelf with liner mat ﬁg. 164 for the wireless charging function is located in the center console or between the front seats in a

storage compartment.

In some vehicles, the liner mat bears a phone symbol, which indicates the center position for the wireless charging function ﬁg. 164. The symbol on the liner mat

may look different in some vehicles.

Only a single Qi-certiﬁed cell phone without a protective case and with maximum dimensions (width x length) of 80 mm x 140 mm (approx. 3 in x 6 in) should be

placed ﬂat on the wireless charging function shelf at a time.

Qi-certiﬁed cell phones with larger dimensions cannot be charged wirelessly.

Wireless Cell Phone Charging

Requirements

You must have a suitable cell phone that does not exceed the maximum dimensions and supports the Qi standard.

1. Before charging, remove any foreign objects with metal components, such as coins, from the storage compartment and follow the cell phone operating

instructions.

2. Place your cell phone, without a protective case and with the display facing upward, completely ﬂat at the center of the shelf.

The charging process starts automatically.

The Infotainment system informs you when the charging process is starting and, if applicable, if there are any foreign objects with metal components in the storage

compartment. Remove foreign objects immediately.

Your Cell Phone Is Not Recognized

If a cell phone is not placed on the shelf correctly or if it is too large, it may not be detected correctly or detected at all. The Infotainment system may notify you of a

foreign object in the storage compartment.

If a suitable cell phone is used and its position is corrected, the fault may be eliminated. Remove your cell phone and place it correctly in the storage compartment

for the wireless charging function.

Storage compartment cover

Depending on the vehicle equipment and in some countries, the storage compartment for the wireless charging function may have a cover for the cell phone displa

Only a cell phone with maximum dimensions (width x length) of approximately 80 mm x 140 mm (3 in x 6 in), in accordance with the speciﬁcations, may be placed

in the covered storage compartment.

The cover can prevent you from being distracted by the cell phone, e.g. by incoming notiﬁcations.

The cover must always be closed while driving and the display of the cell phone must be completely covered up.

WARNING

Notiﬁcations on the cell phone display may distract the driver. This can result in accidents and serious injury or death.

Only place a single suitable and, if applicable, Qi-certiﬁed cell phone without a protective case and with maximum dimensions (width x length) of

80 mm x 140 mm (approx. 3 in x 6 in), in accordance with the speciﬁcations, on the shelf in the storage compartment at a time.

Remove objects that prevent the cover from closing.

Always keep the cover closed while driving.

WARNING

Metal objects on the shelf can become very hot. This may cause burns or ﬁres.

Do not place metal objects or objects with metal components on the wireless charging shelf.

NOTICE

If any ID cards, debit cards or credit cards with magnetic strips or chips are placed on the wireless charging shelf, the data saved on the magnetic strips or chips

could become unusable or damaged.
